ScrapFest is a grassroots arts platform founded by Urvah Khan that amplifies trans, underground, and marginalized voices through performance, cultural organizing, and community care.
The festival made its debut in Canada in 2019 and later expanded to Pakistan, where it became one of the country’s first queer-centered cultural events. Following government censorship, ScrapFest was banned twice in 2023 and 2024. In response, the platform continued its work through underground and virtual programming, supporting artists across borders and building alternative spaces for creative expression.
Today, ScrapFest presents and produces initiatives including Muslim Pride, carrying forward its commitment to creating safer, affirming spaces for queer and trans communities through art and culture.
